NDG Introduction to Linux II

NDG Introduction to Linux II course continues the focus on the basic Linux system administration skills needed in preparation for the Linux Professional Institute LPIC-1 or CompTIA Linux+ powered by LPI certification.  You will continue your learning from NDG Introduction to Linux I to gain proficiency performing maintenance tasks on the command line, installing and configuring a computer running Linux and configuring basic networking.

Objectives

Upon completing the course, the learner will be able to prepare himself/herself to pass Exam 102, which is a requirement alongside Exam 101 to obtain the LPIC-1 Certification.

This course is designed to prepare you for Exam 102, which covers:

  • Shells, Scripting and Data Management
  • Interfaces and Desktops
  • Administrative Tasks
  • Essential System Services
  • Networking Fundamentals
  • Security

Audience

NDG Introduction to Linux II is aimed at individuals who want to prepare themselves for performing maintenance tasks on the command line, installing and configuring a computer running Linux and configuring basic networking. Furthermore, it is designated to those who want to enter Exam 102 and get certified in LPIC-1.

Schedule

The course is delivered in 70 contact hours of training.
Classes are usually held two times a week on three-hour sessions or one times a week on six-hour sessions.

LPIC-1: Linux Server Professional Certification

LPIC-1 is the first certification in LPI’s multi-level Linux Professional certification program. Exam 102 (1 of 2 required) validates your ability to perform maintenance tasks on the command line, installing and configuring a computer running Linux and configuring basic networking.
